Friday the 13th
JASON VOORHEES: Caucasian, fair complexion, Late 20's, Early 30's, stunt man. He is thin, lean, and cut from living off the land and residing in the forest around Crystal Lake...
YOUNG JASON VOORHEES: Caucasian, fair complexion, older, smaller, kid to play 9 or 10 years of age..
The above suggests that Vorhees plays a large role in the film, which confirms that this film will be a strict remake of the original Friday 13th, but instead follow the route of the sequels.
Filming begins next month with Marus Nispel in the directors chair.

The Muppets
The job came aout when Henson puppetteers were hired to create the puppets used in the "Dracula" musical which features in Marshall. This led to a meeting with Disney executives in which Segal put forward his pitch for a new movie featuring Kermit & Co.
Segel and Stoller will write the script and Stoller will direct. No further details on the film or a possible release date as of yet.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance USA
Charlize Thereon has revealed she is in talks to star in an American remake of Park Chan Wook's Korean thriller, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.
The original tells of a woman who is incarcerated for 13 years for a murder she didnt commit, before being released and setting off on a path of revenge against those that wronged her.
It appears that the director is involved in the remake to some extent, with Theron quoted as saying "he came to me and said he really wanted us to do this. He wanted to see that story told in an American society."
With the Oldboy remake seemingly dead in the water, this appears to be the film most liekly to introduce a mainstream audience to Chan Wook's unique worldview, depending of course on how much survives the Hollywood studio system.

Heavy Metal
The biggest news on the project however is that David Fincher has been tapped to direct one of the segments, which opens up some interesting possibilities as to what the Fight Club auteur will produce in the animated medium. Other big name directors will apparently be announced in the near future

Robocop
The original Robocop is only 20 years old, and still a pretty good film. The big question is whether any remake would keep the dark comedy and social satire of the original, or follow the increasingly bland sequels.

The Incredible Hulk
First images of a (obviously CGI) Hulk and lead villian 'Abomination' from the Inredibe Hulk Trailer. Director Louis Letterier has promised a more action packed film than the Ang Lee version, with the final battle consisting of almost half an hour of the creatures battling each other and destroying most of New York City in the process.

Superman
Singer also acknowledges the critics od the first film:-
“The first one was a romantic film and a nostalgic film,” he says. “I’ll be the first person to own up to that without making any apologies for it. I knew it was going to be that from the outset. And now that the characters are established, there’s really an opportunity to up the threat levels.”

Rambo 5
Stallone is quoted as saying:
"I would like to take Rambo to another genre, experiment a little with the character. It would definitely not be another war movie. I can't go any further with that than what I've already done. What it's going to be like, I'm not going to reveal at this point. But I'm already halfway though writing the manuscript."

Whilst details at the moment are scarce, Marshall told Variety:
"It is set during the Gold Rush, a time remembered for incidents like the Donner Party. It is meant to be a pitch-black, gritty, period horror movie.
""This is 'Unforgiven' by way of H.P. Lovecraft, with that grim, gritty setting and a horror element nobody has seen before."

The first images of Marky Mark in character as 'Max Payne' have emerged on the web. The film, based on a popular computer game, tells of a tough NYPD Detective who goes on the run after being framed for the murder of his entire family.
Computer games rarely make good films, but with Wahlberg and director John Moore involved, this sounds more promising than most, despite the rumoured PG-13 rating.

Wolf Man
The film has had a troubled gestation, with director Marc Romanek replaced by Joe Johnston just a few weeks before filming. There are also rumours of rewrites to the script, despite the strong buzz surrounding Andrew Kevin Walkers original screenplay.

Ledger's footage will remain in the film, with the producers stating that "since the format of the story allows for the preservation of his entire performance, at no point will Heath's work be modified or altered through the use of digital technology."
Gilliam makes it clear that the production was restarted "with the blessing and support of Heath Ledger's family" and that he was "delighted that Heath's brilliant performance can be shared with the world. We are looking forward to finishing the movie and, through the film, with a modicum of humility, being able to touch people's hearts and souls as Heath was able to do."

The Dark Knight
The above new image from The Dark Knight is taken from an interesting New York Times article, which talks about the reinvigoration of the franchise following Batman and Robin, and concentrates on the working methods of director Christopher Nolan. It also has some interesting thoughts on the interplay between Batman and the Joker:-
Mr. Oldman’s police lieutenant, Jim Gordon, warns about the perils of escalation: that Batman’s extreme measures could invite a like response from the criminal element. And sure enough, a deadly new villain, the Joker, emerges to wreak havoc.
In a political context this would politely be called an “unintended consequence.” (Gotham as Baghdad, anyone?) Mr. Nolan doesn’t deny the overtones. “As we looked through the comics, there was this fascinating idea that Batman’s presence in Gotham actually attracts criminals to Gotham, attracts lunacy,” he said. “When you’re dealing with questionable notions like people taking the law into their own hands, you have to really ask, where does that lead? That’s what makes the character so dark, because he expresses a vengeful desire.”
Despite some lingering concerns as to whether the film will contain too much in terms of character and plot, this film is increasingly looking to be the one to watch this summer.

Ice Age 3 - Dawn of the Dinosaurs
The Sopranos
The Satin Dolls doubles as the Bada Bing club, which of course features heavily in the series. The owner, Nick D'Urso, says he has put back a planned refit of the club after he "got an inside tip that they're going to do a movie, so I don't want to make any major changes ... I'm not going to reveal my sources, but we got a call from somebody (working) on the script."
There has been talk of a Sopranos movie since the series ended, but little in the way of concrete information. The final episode certainly left room for a continuation.

“Hello, I’m Harvey Dent, Assistant District Attorney of Gotham, and I’m calling to ask for your support. We all know what’s wrong with Gotham. Crime is out of control. And instead of protecting our streets, too many cops have become criminals themselves.

I need to know if you, the people of Gotham, want change. Do you want a Gotham free from the grip of criminals and the corrupt? Are you ready to join a crusade to take back our city?
