The 1986 usical version of Little Shop of Horrors originally had a much different ending. Unfortunately test audiences deemed the finale too dark, and despite supposedly costing millions of dollars the ending was junked and an unsatisfying 'happy ending' conclusion tacked on.
The original ending was included as part of the special features on the first pressing of the DVD, but that release was rapidly recalled as a result of a disagreement with the producer. As a result the footage has been rarely seen.
However, a copy of the footage has now found its way on to the wonder that is Youtube and can be found (until it is inevitably pulled down by Warner Brothers) in three parts below.
The footage is poor quality, but if better footage exists this is a film crying out for a directors cut.
